Good news, everyone, we can now use the at sign (@) plus a Dreamwidth username (runpunkrun) to make such usernames as [personal profile] runpunkrun. It works in entries and comments:
Pushed some more tweaks to hopefully improve the Android/mobile experience on comment replies. Also, you can now use "@" followed by a username to refer to people in comments/posts. -M

In comments on that post, [personal profile] jesse_the_k points out you can append the names of other sites to get usernames linked to those sites:
@jesse_the_k ⇒ jesse_the_k
@jesse_the_k.twitter ⇒ jesse_the_k
@jesse_the_k.ao3 ⇒ jesse_the_k
(Prepend a backslash to the @ to get it to act like text.)
