a little disappointed that "record of a spaceborn few" didn't win, but excited to read "the calculating stars". (and thrilled that wayfarers won "best series", though i hope the centenal cycle gets one too in some future year).

also awesome news for ao3 and the embracing of fanfic as a valuable part of the community.

Have you not yet read “The Calculating Stars”? Somehow I thought you had. I really enjoyed that one in a lot of ways.

Ah; I'd have loaned you mine. I haven't bought the next one yet, but I'm looking forward to getting the chance to read that "some time soon". :)

I didn't love Record of a Spaceborn Few the way I utterly loved The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. I'm glad the series won, but am ok with the one book getting a pass.

I thought The Calculating Stars were exceedingly award-baity, exactly the sort of thing that the community would love (but I hadn't read Spinning Silver or Trail of Lightning).
