A lot went wrong in 2018, so much that it was easy to lose sight of global improvements in the midst of incessant bad news. But while it may be hard to believe, 2018 was in many ways the best year yet to be a human living on Earth.

Nice list! This reminds me of Factfulness, and I continue to think you'd really enjoy that book. :) :)

At last night's New Year's Eve party I had the opportunity to peruse the most AMAZING nonfiction bookcase. I think I took pictures of a dozen books with my Amazon app, putting them on my wish list for when my current (likely months-long) project is done. I'll show you the list if you like. I ended up leaving the party with the thought "hey, these are people I really want to know better." :)

I've always thought that if I spent a ton more time on books, I'd do Goodreads, but until then my amazon wish list system (which I admit I overload) mostly captures it all. Perhaps I should get a Goodreads account anyway... huh... ok, there. That was quick. At least they didn't tell me I couldn't be CJ Smith.

Nice! Friended you! I decided I wanted to read twenty books this year. If I can't do that, I died. Heck, it's still 1/1/19 and I finished Kernighan and Ritchie, not exactly a gripping page turner. :)

They don't even HAVE that book on that site. They have a much newer version, and technically I read both of those long ago anyway, so that feels a little disingenuous... Oooo! I should go try to find the French version on goodreads. Ha.

I will do well this year, then!
